Q: What are the different types of buzzers based on Drive Mode?

A: Buzzers can be classified into two types based on Drive Mode: 

Active Buzzer - These buzzers have an built-in oscillator which generates a tone when power is applied.  It is also known as a self-driven or internally driven buzzer.  Active buzzers can be used with microcontrollers or even simple circuits to generate different frequency sounds.

Passive Buzzer - These buzzers do not have an internal oscillator, so it requires an external wave generator to produce a sound.  It is known as externally driven buzzer, which means individuals have to pre-generate a wave from a PWM-capable IO pin for the sound they want.
