Passive buzzer is a kind of electromagnetic or piezoelectric sound component which needs an external driving circuit to produce sound. Unlike an active buzzer, the high frequency passive buzzer contains no internal oscillation source. The key characteristic is that the tone is determined by the frequency of the input drive signal. By inputting square wave signals of different frequencies, the user can flexibly control it to produce various tones, melodies and even simple music. This high frequency passive buzzer usually has two pins (positive and negative polarity) , low power consumption, cost-effective. The sound is clearer, but usually less loud than an active buzzer of the same size. Widely used in need of custom prompt sound, alarm sound or simple music playing occasions, such as electronic toys, instrumentation, home appliances, security equipment.
